A woman in front of a mirror, looking at herself -I’ve always found that particular image appealing, a very special sight. In fact, I’m generally fascinated by people’s attraction to mirrors, to which we bestow near-magical qualities. Because a mirror, it turns out, can be either your best friend or your worst enemy. The ornamentation of the self and the ancestral beauty rituals are the precursors of modern hedonist culture. In Bodoir,I pay tribute to that intimate moment in which a woman catches a last fleeting glimpse of herself before leaving the house.
